What is a Dental Implant?
An implant is a titanium screw placed in the jawbone to replace missing teeth, acting as a tooth root. Titanium is fully biocompatible with the human body and fuses with the bone over time to create a foundation as strong as a natural tooth root. When topped with porcelain or zirconium teeth, it is indistinguishable from natural teeth in both aesthetics and function.
Why Choose Implants? Unlike dental bridges, there is no need to cut down healthy neighboring teeth for implants. It is also the only treatment method that prevents bone loss in the area where the tooth was extracted. It restores your lost chewing power and gives you a confident smile.
Implant Process at AEG Clinic The process at our clinic progresses painlessly and comfortably with fully digital planning:
-
3D Tomography & Planning: Beyond panoramic X-rays, your bone density is measured with 3D tomography. The angle of the implant is planned millimetrically on the computer, reducing risk to zero.
-
Surgical Procedure: The implant is placed under local anesthesia in a short procedure, usually lasting 10-15 minutes. You will feel absolutely no pain during the procedure.
-
Healing Process: A period of 2-3 months is usually required for the implant to fuse with the bone (Osseointegration). (Note: If bone structure permits, "Immediate Implants" allow for teeth to be attached on the same day.)
-
Prosthetic Stage: Once healing is complete, your permanent teeth are attached to the implants.
Who is a Candidate? Anyone over 18 with completed bone development, good general health, and sufficient bone volume can have implants. If bone volume is insufficient, "bone grafting" procedures are used to prepare the foundation.
All-on-4 and All-on-6 Techniques For our edentulous (toothless) patients, we successfully apply special techniques where a full set of teeth is fixed onto just 4 or 6 implants placed in the jaw.
