The "Bonding" Appointment: What to Expect
One of the most common questions we get at AEG Dental is: "Will it hurt when you put the braces on?" The short answer is: No. Placing braces (bonding) is completely painless. There are no needles and no drills involved.

Watch: Bonding Process Step-by-Step
Step 1: Preparation and Cleaning
First, we place a "cheek retractor" to keep your lips and cheeks away from your teeth. Then, we polish your teeth to make sure they are perfectly clean and dry. Dryness is key for the glue to hold!
Step 2: The "Blue Gel" (Etching)
As seen in the video, we apply a special blue gel to the front of your teeth. This prepares the tooth surface so the adhesive can stick properly. After a few seconds, we rinse it off.
Step 3: Placing the Brackets
This is where the art begins. The orthodontist places a small amount of dental adhesive on the back of each bracket and positions it precisely on your tooth. The position must be exact to move the tooth in the right direction.
Step 4: The Blue Light (Curing)
Once the bracket is in the perfect spot, we use a high-intensity blue light to harden the glue instantly. Now your braces are stuck tight!
Step 5: The Wire
Finally, we thread the archwire through the brackets. This is the engine that will move your teeth. We secure it with tiny rubber bands – this is where you can choose your favorite colors!
Conclusion: You Are Ready!
When you leave the chair, your teeth might feel a bit "tight," but you won't feel sharp pain. Welcome to your journey towards a perfect smile!
